What is a .CDML file?
A .CDML file is a special kind of file that is made by a program called Creately. Creately is a tool that people use both on the internet and on their computers to make different kinds of diagrams. These diagrams can be things like flow charts, which show steps in a process, mind maps, which help organize thoughts, and SWOT analyses, which are used in business to look at strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The diagrams you can make with Creately can have text, arrows, and lots of different shapes like circles, squares, triangles, stars, balloons, and even people shapes.
To open a .CDML file, you can use a program called Cinergix Creately Desktop or you can use Creately's online version, Cinergix Creately Online. Both of these are made by the same company, Cinergix.
When you make a diagram in Creately and you want to save it so you don't lose your work, you can save it as a .CDML file. This is like making a backup copy. You do this by choosing the "Export" option in the program's toolbar. This saves your diagram on your computer. Besides .CDML, you can also save your diagrams as .PDF, .JPG, and .PNG files, which are common types of files that many programs can open.
If you have a .CDML file and you want to work on it again in Creately, you can bring it back into the program by choosing "Import" from the toolbar.
Creately also lets you share your diagrams with other people. You can send them a link to your diagram, and you can decide if they can just look at it or if they can make changes too. You can also put your diagram on a website or share it on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn.
