What is a .EMRG2 file?
The .EMRG2 file is a type of data file used by a program called E-Merge, which is part of a bigger software package known as E-Prime. E-Prime is specially designed for conducting psychological studies. When researchers collect data from study participants, it often comes in .EDAT or .EDAT2 files. If they want to combine the data from two or more of these files into one single file, they use E-Merge to do this, and the result is a .EMRG2 file.
To open and work with an .EMRG2 file, you can use a program called E-DataAid, which is also a part of the E-Prime software suite. E-DataAid allows you to do more with your data, like filtering it to find specific information, analyzing it to understand what it means, and even exporting it so you can use it in other software tools that are made for statistical analysis.
It's also worth noting that there is an older version of E-Merge, which is version 1. This older version saves merged data files with a different extension, .EMRG. However, if you have the newer version of E-DataAid, which is version 2, you can still open these older .EMRG files without any problems.
