What is a .FFD file?

An FFD file is a special type of file used by a video game called FATE. FATE is a game where you go on adventures, fight monsters, and find treasures. It's made by a company called WildTangent. When you play FATE, you can save your game so you don't have to start all over again next time you play. This saved game is stored in a file called a Flat File Descriptor, or FFD for short.

The FFD file keeps track of everything about your game at the moment you save it. This includes where your character is in the game, what items you have collected, and how strong your character has become. It's like a bookmark in a book that lets you return to the exact place you left off.

To open an FFD file and continue your game, you need to use the FATE game itself. There's also a special tool called FATE Save Editor that lets you make changes to your saved game. This could be useful if you want to adjust your character's stats or add items.

It's important to know that FFD files don't actually hold any music or videos from the game. They just keep information about your game progress. So, if you ever want to move your saved game to another computer, you need to remember to also move any separate audio or video files that go with the game, or your saved game might not work properly on the new computer.
