What is a .FP5 file?
An FP5 file is a type of computer file used to store information in an organized way, similar to how a filing cabinet contains different folders for various documents. This particular file is created by a program called FileMaker Pro, versions 5 or 6. Think of FileMaker Pro as a digital tool for making and keeping databases. A database is a collection of information that is stored so it can be retrieved, managed, and used easily. For example, a business might use an FP5 file to keep track of all the items they have for sale (inventory), the contact information of people they deal with (contacts), details about their employees (personnel), or information about different projects they are working on.
The FP5 file format is designed to hold one or more tables of data. A table is a way to organize information into rows and columns, much like a spreadsheet. To open an FP5 file, you would need to use FileMaker Pro Advanced. This is a more powerful version of FileMaker Pro that offers additional features for managing and working with databases. FileMaker Pro Advanced can open FP5 files, allowing you to view, edit, or manage the data stored in them. If you have an FP5 file but do not have FileMaker Pro Advanced, you would need to obtain this software to work with the file.
