What is a .FRJ file?

The .FRJ file extension stands for a FreeForm-J Project File. This type of file is made using a program called FreeForm-J, which is a tool for creating graphical user interfaces, or GUIs. FreeForm-J is built in a programming language called Just BASIC. When you use FreeForm-J, you can design forms that might include things like text boxes, buttons, places to enter information (fields), and drop-down menus (combo boxes). These forms are part of making the front-end, or the part of the application that users interact with, for programs written in Just BASIC.

To work with .FRJ files, you need to use a couple of programs. One is called Just BASIC, which is made by Shoptalk Systems. This is the main program where you write and run your BASIC code. The other is Form-J FreeForm-J, which is actually a Just BASIC program itself. It comes with a .BAS file, which is a BASIC source code file, along with other necessary components. When you want to create or edit a form for your Just BASIC application, you use FreeForm-J to design it, which then saves your work as an .FRJ file. However, to actually see your form come to life and use it in your application, you need to compile and run it within the Just BASIC application.
