.OBK File Extension

A .OBK file is a Backup File, created by O&O Software.

Open with O&O Software O&O DiskImage 8. Available for Windows.

What is a .OBK file?

An .OBK file is a type of backup file. It is made by a program called O&O DiskImage. This program helps you make a copy of your files and save them safely in case you need them later. The .OBK file is like a twin of your original files, but it's squished down to take up less space. Unlike some other backup files, .OBK files don't keep information about your computer's drives, like where files were stored.

If you need to open or use an .OBK file, you can do it with the O&O DiskImage program, version 8 or newer. Another program called Corel WinZip can also open these files. WinZip is useful, especially if you just want to see what's inside the .OBK file or take out certain files.

Here's how you can make an .OBK file with O&O DiskImage: 1. Open O&O DiskImage and look for an option that says "Start file backup" on the main page, or find it in the menu. 2. Choose the drive (like your C: drive) and pick the files you want to back up by checking a box next to them. Then, click on "Start file backup." 3. A window will pop up asking where you want to save the backup and what options you want. Choose what you like and click Start. 4. Wait for it to finish, then click Close.

If you need to get your files back from an .OBK file, here's what to do: 1. In O&O DiskImage, go to the menu and select "File restoration." 2. Find your .OBK file and open it. 3. Pick the files you want to bring back and click on "Start file restoration." 4. A window will show up. Click Start, wait for it to finish, then click Close.

Remember, if your .OBK file is locked with a password (encrypted), you can only open it with O&O DiskImage. But if it's not locked, you can use WinZip to open it and get your files.
