What is a .ORGAN file?

An .ORGAN file is a special type of file that is used with a program called GrandOrgue. GrandOrgue is a computer program that simulates the sound of a pipe organ. When you use GrandOrgue, it can sound like you are playing a real pipe organ because of these .ORGAN files.

The .ORGAN file contains what is called a "sample set." This means it has a collection of sounds and settings that make up the different notes and tones you can play on the simulated organ. For example, it includes information on what the lowest and highest notes you can play are, and what the organ pipes should sound like. This could be pipes from a big church organ or a smaller chapel organ, depending on the file.

Additionally, the .ORGAN file has details about the organ itself, like who made it and which church it was originally from. This helps make the simulation more realistic because it's based on real organs.

To open an .ORGAN file, you need to use the GrandOrgue program. This is the only program designed to work with these files. Once you have GrandOrgue installed on your computer, you can load the .ORGAN file into it, and start playing the organ sounds on your computer as if you were playing a real organ.
