Open with Adobe PageMaker. Available for Windows.

What is a .PMG file?

The .PMG file extension stands for PageMaker Group File. It is a type of file created by Adobe PageMaker, a software application that was widely used for designing page layouts. The .PMG file contains an .EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) graphic. This graphic includes a low-resolution raster image for screen viewing and PostScript data for creating high-resolution prints. This file is generated using a feature in PageMaker called "PS Group it." This feature groups various objects within a document together and replaces the original page graphics with the newly created .PMG file.

To open a .PMG file, you can use Adobe PageMaker, the original software that creates this file type. However, Adobe PageMaker has been discontinued and replaced by Adobe InDesign. Adobe InDesign used to support .PMG files up to its CS versions, but the latest versions of Adobe InDesign (such as Adobe InDesign 2023) no longer support opening .PMG files. If you need to open a .PMG file, you might need to find an older version of Adobe InDesign or use a different program that can open older PageMaker files.
