What is a .PXS file?

The .PXS file extension is associated with a type of file called a Pixelmator Shape File. This type of file is specifically used by Pixelmator, which is a program designed for editing images on Mac OS X computers. A Pixelmator Shape File contains a collection of shapes. These shapes can be either the default ones provided by the software or custom shapes created by the user. These shapes are used to enhance images in Pixelmator, and they can be added to a Pixelmator project file, which has the .PXM extension.

To open a .PXS file, you need to use the Pixelmator Classic software. This is the main program that can read and handle this type of file.

If you want to create a new shape in Pixelmator, you can do so by first selecting a shape that you have drawn on your work canvas. Then, you click on the gear icon located in the shapes palette. From the menu that appears, you should choose "Add Shape." This action saves your new shape into a .PXS file.

To add a shape from a .PXS file into your current project, you click on the gear icon in the shapes palette again. This time, you select "Import Shape..." from the menu. You will then need to find the .PXS file on your computer, select it, and click "Open" to import the shape into your project.

In summary, .PXS files are used by Pixelmator to store shapes that can be added to images. These files can be managed through the shapes palette in Pixelmator Classic by either adding new shapes or importing existing ones.
