What is a .RAP file?

A .RAP file is a special kind of document used by a program called RAPTOR. RAPTOR is a tool that helps people understand how computer programs work by using flowcharts. A flowchart is like a map that shows different steps (instructions) and how they connect to each other. These steps can be things like starting a task, making a decision, or repeating actions.

When you make a new flowchart in RAPTOR, it starts with just two parts: "Start" and "End." But you can add more parts to it, like steps for doing math, asking for information, showing messages, making choices, or repeating actions. This helps you plan out how a program should work step by step.

To make one of these flowcharts, you use RAPTOR and choose "File" then "New." After you've added all the parts you want, you save your work by choosing "File" then "Save" or "Save As." If you want to look at or change a flowchart you made before, you open it by choosing "File" then "Open." The file that saves your flowchart is called a .RAP file. This file keeps all the parts of your flowchart so you can open it again later in RAPTOR to work on it more or to see how it works. RAPTOR is really helpful for learning how to think about programming in a visual way, making it easier to understand for beginners.
