What is a .VNT file?

A .VNT file is a type of text note that you can find on some mobile phones. For example, if you have a Samsung Android phone, you might have used the S Memo app to make a note, and that note is saved as a .VNT file. Sony Ericsson mobile phones also use this format for their Notes application. These files are simple text files, but they have a special format. They start with the words "BEGIN:VNOTE" and end with "END:VNOTE." You can open .VNT files with different programs. If you have a computer, you can use Microsoft Notepad, which comes with Windows, or Apple TextEdit, which comes with macOS. Both of these are basic text editing programs. You can also use any other text editor you like. There are also specific apps like BlockSoft MemoBlock for opening these files. Even though the Samsung S Memo app has been discontinued, you can still view .VNT files on Android devices.

When you open a .VNT file, you might notice that the text looks a bit strange. This is because the file might use a special way of encoding characters called "quoted-printable" or "QP" encoding. In this encoding, characters are represented by an equal sign followed by two hexadecimal digits. For example, "=20" is actually a space. This encoding can make the text hard to read directly, but you can use a QP decoder to make it easier to understand.
