What is a .3MF file?
A .3MF file is a special kind of computer file used for 3D printing. It stands for 3D Manufacturing File. Think of it as a box that holds everything needed to make a 3D printed object. Inside this box, there's a model of the object you want to print, kind of like a digital sculpture. This model includes not just what the object looks like, but also what it's made of and other important details.
When you save a 3D design in a .3MF file, it's like packing up your 3D model neatly so that 3D printers and design programs can understand it. This file is really good at making sure the design on your computer looks the same when it comes out of a 3D printer. It can even include a little picture (thumbnail) of the model, instructions for the 3D printer (like a recipe), and signatures to show who made it.
