What is a .ANB file?
An .ANB file is a type of file used to create and show charts that help people understand how different pieces of information are related to each other. This kind of file is made with a program called IBM i2 Analyst's Notebook, which is a tool used by analysts to look at data and find connections between different pieces of information. Inside an ANB file, you'll find things called entities, links, and properties. Entities are like the building blocks of the chart and represent different pieces of information. Links are the lines or connections that show how these entities are related or connected to each other. Properties give more details about each entity or link, like descriptions or characteristics that help you understand what they are and how they fit into the bigger picture.
To open an ANB file, you need to have the IBM i2 Analyst's Notebook software. This is the main program that is designed to work with these files. However, if you don't have access to Analyst's Notebook but still need to view the chart, you can use another program called IBM i2 Chart Reader. The Chart Reader allows you to open and look at the ANB files, but you won't be able to edit or change the charts like you can in Analyst's Notebook.
