What is a .CDA file?
A .CDA file is a type of shortcut that points to a specific audio track on a CD. This file does not contain the actual audio data, but rather directs the computer to where the audio can be played from the CD. When you insert an audio CD into your computer's CD drive, Windows might automatically generate these .CDA files for each track on the CD. You can see these files if you open the CD in your computer's file explorer.
To play the music from a .CDA file, you must have the audio CD inserted in your CD drive. By double-clicking on a .CDA file, your computer will use the file as a guide to find and play the music from the CD. If the CD is not in the drive, the file cannot play the music because the audio is not actually in the .CDA file itself.
There are several programs that can open and play .CDA files. These include: 1. **VideoLAN VLC media player** - A versatile media player that can handle various audio and video formats. 2. **Microsoft Windows Media Player** - This is included with most versions of Windows and can play .CDA files. 3. **Nullsoft Winamp** - A popular media player that can also manage and play .CDA files. 4. **Media Player Classic** - A lightweight media player that supports .CDA files. 5. **JRiver Media Center** - A comprehensive media software that can play and organize various media types, including .CDA files. 6. **Other audio players** - Many other audio players capable of handling CD audio might also be able to work with .CDA files.
To use any of these programs, you typically just need to double-click on the .CDA file with the audio CD in your drive, and the program will start playing the track.
