As a result, the more changes you make, the larger the .DDM file becomes. Each time you create a new table in Alpha Anywhere, three files are generated: a .DDM file, a .DDD file, and a .DDX file. These files collectively form the table's data dictionary, which is linked to a .DBF file. The data dictionary stores additional information such as queries, saved utility settings, and layouts, helping Alpha Anywhere to manage and overcome the limitations of the .DBF file format.
It is important to keep the .DDM file together with its corresponding .DDD and .DDX files. This ensures that Alpha Anywhere can correctly locate and utilize all parts of the table data.
To open a .DDM file, you should use Alpha Software's Alpha Anywhere program. This is the primary software that supports and can manage .DDM files effectively.
