What is a .DMC file?
A .DMC file is a type of document used by medical managers and created with a tool called Datamartist. This tool helps people work with data from different places, like databases and spreadsheets, by analyzing it, putting it together in new ways, and keeping track of it. Inside a .DMC file, you can find data sets, which are collections of data, and instructions on how to change or move this data around. These instructions are set up as blocks and connections, kind of like a map showing how everything fits together.
To open a .DMC file, you would use the Datamartist program made by nModal Solutions. This program is specially designed to handle these files and the data inside them.
It's important to know that a .DMC file can only hold up to 250,000 pieces of data in each data set. This means it's good for working with small to medium amounts of data, like when you need to test something and only need a reference set of data. If you have more data than that, the .DMC file can point to where the rest of the data is stored, usually in other files on your computer, so Datamartist can still access it quickly and even when you're not online.
Datamartist is pretty versatile and can work with data from many sources, including Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access, along with .DMC files and others. This makes it a handy tool for managing and analyzing data in different formats.
