What is a .ECT file?
The .ECT file extension refers to a Yozo Office Chart Template File. This type of file is created using Yozo Office, which was previously known as Evermore Integrated Office. Yozo Office is a suite of office document creation tools. An .ECT file includes a chart template that has been customized with specific settings like the colors of the chart, the data it displays, and the type of graph it represents. This is somewhat similar to .EIT files, which are also associated with Yozo Office.
To open an .ECT file, you need to use Yozosoft Yozo Office. This program allows you to utilize the chart template stored in the .ECT file within your documents. Here’s how you can use an .ECT file in Yozo Office: 1. **Start by opening Yozo Office**: You need to have the program installed on your computer. If it's not installed, you will need to download and install it from Yozosoft's official website.
2. **Open an existing document or create a new one**: Before you can use a chart template, you must have a document open in Yozo Office.
3. **Insert a chart using the template**: - Go to the "Insert" tab in the toolbar. - Click on "Chart" and then select "Change Chart Type." - In the new window that opens, click on the "Chart Templates" tab. - Choose the desired template from the list of available templates and click "OK." If you want to create your own .ECT file: - Open or create a document in Yozo Office. - Go to the "Insert" tab and select "Chart." - After customizing your chart, go to "Save As Template." - Name your template, ensure it saves in the default ChartTemplates folder (or choose another location), and click "Save." **Location of Preloaded ECT Files**: Preloaded .ECT files are stored in the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Yozosoft\Yozo_Office\Templates\ChartTemplates. However, you cannot open these files directly from the folder; they must be accessed through the Yozo Office application as described above.
**Note**: Yozosoft was known as Evermore Software until 2010, when they changed their name and updated their software suite to Yozo Office.
