What is a .ELS file?
An .ELS file is a type of data file specifically used by a stock trading program called TradeStation. This program helps users analyze financial markets, search for trading opportunities, carry out trades, and keep track of those trades. The .ELS file stores important information such as trading strategies and analysis techniques that users have set up in TradeStation.
To manage these .ELS files, you need to use the TradeStation software. This software is essential because it is designed to open and handle these files properly. Within TradeStation, you can both save your trading strategies and techniques in an .ELS file and also load them from an .ELS file when needed.
TradeStation also uses other file types like .ELA and .ELD for storing different kinds of data related to trading strategies and documents. The .ELS files are saved in a format known as EasyLanguage Storage (ELS) and are compatible with versions of TradeStation from 2000i onwards.
If you need to export or import an .ELS file in TradeStation, you can do so by going to the menu and selecting File → Import/Export EasyLanguage. From there, you can choose to either export or import an EasyLanguage Archive file, depending on what you need to do with the .ELS file.
