What is a .FLKB file?
The .FLKB file is a type of secure file called a Folder Lock Basic Locker File. It is made by a program called Folder Lock, which is used to keep important or private files safe. Think of it as a digital safe where you can store things like personal documents or sensitive information. This file is like a locked box that can only be opened if you know the password.
The .FLKB file is special because it can hold as many files as you need it to, without worrying about running out of space. This is because it uses a system called NTFS, which is good at handling large amounts of data. People use .FLKB files to make a secure backup of their important files, ensuring that only they can access them with the right password.
To open a .FLKB file, you need to use the Folder Lock program made by NewSoftwares. This is the only program that can unlock the file and let you see or use the files inside.
It's also worth knowing that there are two types of locker files in Folder Lock. Besides the .FLKB files, there are also .FLKA files, which are called Portable Lockers. The main difference is that .FLKA files have a limit on how much they can hold, up to 4GB, and they can be backed up online with NewSoftware's service. However, the .FLKB files, or Basic Lockers, don't have this online backup option.
These .FLKB and .FLKA files started being used from version 7 of the Folder Lock software. Before this version, Folder Lock used a different type of file called .FLK for its lockers.
