What is a .GCT file?
The .GCT file is a special type of file used by people who like to modify or cheat in video games on the Nintendo Wii. It is created by a program called Ocarina Cheat Code Manager. This program is not a regular one you might find on all computers; it's a homebrew application, which means it's made by enthusiasts rather than the official game developers or console makers. People use it to make cheat codes that can change how games are played on the Wii.
Once someone has created a cheat code using the Ocarina Cheat Code Manager, the program saves this code into a file that ends with .GCT. This .GCT file contains all the cheat codes that were made. After that, the file needs to be moved to a Wii SD card. An SD card is a small memory card used in devices like cameras, phones, and game consoles for extra storage. Once the .GCT file is on the SD card, it can be used with the Wii console.
To actually use the cheat codes on the Wii, you need another homebrew program called Ocarina. This program knows how to read the .GCT file from the SD card and apply the cheat codes to the game you're playing.
It's important to note that while the Ocarina Cheat Code Manager is used to create and export the .GCT files, it cannot open them itself after they are created. So, if you want to use the cheat codes, you have to follow the process of moving the .GCT file to an SD card and then using the Ocarina program on your Wii.
