It's important to know that the GreatFamily software isn't being updated anymore, and not many people use it these days. This means that .GD3 files are not very common. However, you might still come across one if you or a family member used GreatFamily in the past to document your family's history.
If you have a .GD3 file but want to use it with different genealogy software, GreatFamily allows you to change the .GD3 file into a more common file type known as .GED.
