What is a .GFE file?

A .GFE file is a type of file that has been made secure by a program called Glary Utilities. This program works on Windows computers and helps keep them clean and organized. When a file is made secure with Glary Utilities, it gets a .GFE at the end of its name. This means that the file has been encrypted, or locked, so that only people with the right password can see what's inside.

For example, if you have a document named "example.doc" and you use Glary Utilities to encrypt it, the new name of the file will be "example.doc.gfe". This new file can't be opened just by clicking on it. You need to know the special password that was used to lock it.

To lock a file with a password using Glary Utilities, you have to open the program and look for a section called "Advanced Tools". Under this section, there's an option that says "Encrypt files" which you need to click. Then, you add the file you want to lock by clicking "Add File(s)", find your file, and open it. After that, you pick where you want to save the locked file, make up a password that will lock the file, and click a button that says "Encrypt Now!".

If you want to open a .GFE file, or in other words, unlock it, you go through a similar process. You open Glary Utilities, go to "Advanced Tools", and click "Encrypt files" again. But this time, you choose the option to "Decrypt file". You find your .GFE file by clicking "Browse...", open it, and then type in the password that was used to lock it. After choosing where to save the unlocked file, you click "OK" and then "Decrypt Now!" to finish.

The only program that can open a .GFE file is Glary Utilities, specifically version 5 or newer. This is because the file is encrypted in a way that only Glary Utilities knows how to unlock, as long as you have the correct password.
