What is a .GROOVE file?
The .GROOVE file extension is associated with ACID Groove Files, which are used by the audio-editing and mixing software called MAGIX ACID. These files contain what is known as a "groove," a special kind of data that can change the rhythm of a music track. By using a groove, you can add different rhythmic feels or styles to music that originally has a straightforward, unchanging beat.
MAGIX ACID Pro 11 is the main program that can open and use .GROOVE files. When you install ACID Pro, it comes with a variety of pre-made GROOVE files. These files include different rhythmic styles such as blues, hip hop, swing, reggae, and more. You can find and use these files through a feature in the software called the Groove Pool tab.
Additionally, if you want to create your own unique rhythms, ACID Pro offers a tool within the Groove Pool tab called the Groove Editor. This allows you to customize or create new GROOVE files from scratch.
It's important to note that ACID software was originally developed by Sony but was sold to MAGIX in 2016. This software is specifically designed for professionals or enthusiasts in the field of music production, particularly those looking to experiment with or enhance the rhythmic elements of their audio tracks.
