What is a .GTM file?
A .GTM file is a special kind of document used by a computer program called GreekToMe. This program helps people study the New Testament of the Bible by showing the original Greek text alongside translations into other languages like English. For example, it can show the King James Version (KJV) or the English Standard Version (ESV) next to the Greek words.
The .GTM file contains both the Greek words from the New Testament and their translations. This means when you use GreekToMe, you can see the Greek text and understand what it means in a language you know.
To open a .GTM file, you need to use the GreekToMe software. This is the only program designed to work with these files. When GreekToMe opens a .GTM file, it shows the content in a way that's easy to read, even though the information in the file is actually encrypted. Encryption is a way to protect the data and make sure it doesn't get changed by accident. Because of this encryption, if you try to change the name of a .GTM file, it won't work in the GreekToMe program anymore. This helps keep the translations accurate and reliable for studying.
