What is a .GTS file?
A .GTS file is a type of video file that comes from devices made by CaptiveWorks, which are special gadgets used to record and watch TV shows. This file has the video information saved in a special way that only certain programs can understand and play. The name ".GTS" for the file comes from the name you give your project. So, if you name your project "MyProject," the file will be called "MyProject.gts." These files are related to something called Gerber format, which is a standard way to store detailed designs of printed circuit boards (PCBs) in a file. The GTS files are a bit like .PDF files because they show a version of the PCB layout that you can look at but not change. They are saved in a specific format known as RS-274X.
Originally, the Gerber Systems company created the GTS format, but now a company called Ucamco looks after it. This means they make sure the format works well and updates it as needed.
