What is a .IGG file?
The .IGG file is a type of file used by a program called SuiteProfiler. This program helps people make something called color maps. These color maps are special because they don't depend on any specific device, like a particular printer or computer screen. Once these color maps are made, they can be turned into something called ICC color map profiles. These profiles are very useful for two things: making sure images look right on your screen (soft proofing) and making sure they print out the way they're supposed to.
An .IGG file can hold not just one, but many color map profiles. This means you can have a whole set of these profiles that work together for different situations or devices. This is really handy for people who need to make sure their images look perfect, whether they're on a screen or printed out.
However, there's a bit of bad news. The program that opens these .IGG files, SuiteProfiler, isn't available anymore. This means if you have an .IGG file, you might find it tricky to open or use it without SuiteProfiler.
The cool thing about SuiteProfiler and .IGG files is that they let you change the colors in an image in lots of different ways without having to change the original image itself. For example, you could make an image look black and white, or you could adjust the colors to look just right for a specific printer. This is really useful for photographers, designers, and anyone else who cares a lot about how their images look in different situations.
