What is a .KFL file?
A .KFL file is a type of file that is used by Microsoft Outlook, specifically the versions from 2007 and 2010. Microsoft Outlook is a program that lets you manage your emails, calendar, contacts, and tasks. It works on computers that have Windows or OS X (which is an operating system for Mac computers).
The .KFL file contains settings. These settings are all about RSS feeds. RSS feeds are a way to easily keep track of updates or new content from your favorite websites. Instead of going to each website, you can get updates automatically through RSS feeds. The .KFL file keeps a list of these RSS feeds that you have added to your Outlook. It makes sure that the list of feeds you have in Outlook is the same as the list in a feature called the Internet Explorer Common Feed List. Internet Explorer is a web browser, and its Common Feed List is a shared place where RSS feeds are stored. This means if you add or remove an RSS feed in Outlook, it does the same in Internet Explorer, and vice versa.
To open a .KFL file, you need Microsoft Outlook. As of the latest information, Microsoft Outlook 365, which is a newer version of Outlook that you can subscribe to, can open .KFL files. Outlook 365 is part of the Microsoft 365 subscription service, which gives you access to Microsoft's suite of office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and of course, Outlook. So, if you have a .KFL file that you need to open or use, you would do so through Microsoft Outlook 365.
