What is a .KODE file?

A .KODE file is a type of secure file that has been encrypted, or locked, so that only certain people can see what's inside. It's made by a program called KodeFile, which is made by a company named 1SQ Technologies. This program works on many different devices, like computers (Windows, macOS, Linux) and smartphones (iOS, Android). The special thing about a .KODE file is that it can be any kind of file – like a Word document (.DOCX), a picture (.JPG), or a video (.MP4) – but it's been scrambled using a very strong method called AES 256-bit encryption. This means it's very, very hard for anyone who shouldn't see the file to break in and see it.

To open a .KODE file, you need the KodeFile program and a special key, which is like a secret password, to unlock or decrypt the file. Without this key, the file will stay locked and unreadable.

Here's how it works with KodeFile: - If you want to lock a file, you open KodeFile, choose "Encrypt" from the main menu, pick the file or files you want to lock, and then click "Encrypt." KodeFile will scramble the file and add ".kode" to the end of its name. So, if you have a file named "holiday.jpg," after encrypting it, it will be named "holiday.jpg.kode." - If you receive a .KODE file or you've encrypted one before and now you want to open it, you go back to KodeFile, choose "Decrypt" from the main menu, select the .KODE file, and then click "Decrypt." You'll need that special key to do this. Once decrypted, the file goes back to its original form, and you can use it like before.

KodeFile is especially useful for keeping important files safe, like personal photos, financial documents, or anything private. You can also share these secure .KODE files with other people who use KodeFile, and they call these trusted people "confidants." This way, even when sharing sensitive information, it stays protected.

Remember, to work with .KODE files, you must have the KodeFile program installed on your device, and you'll need the correct decryption key to open and see the contents of these encrypted files.
