What is a .LEV file?
A .LEV file is a type of data file used by Levelogger Software, which is a program designed for analyzing groundwater and surface water data. These files are specifically created by the software to store information gathered from Levelogger Edge devices, which are tools used to record water levels and temperatures. The data in a .LEV file includes measurements of water levels and temperatures collected during a monitoring session.
The .LEV file format was the standard format used by versions 1 through 3 of Levelogger Software. However, starting with version 4 of the software, the .LEV format was replaced by the .XLE file format. Despite this change, .LEV files can still be opened and used with version 4 and later versions of Levelogger Software.
To open a .LEV file, you need to use Solinst Levelogger Software. Here’s how you can open such a file: 1. Start the Levelogger Software on your computer. 2. Click on the 'File' menu and then select 'Open'. 3. Navigate to the folder where your .LEV file is saved. By default, this might be in a directory like C:\Program Files\Solinst\Levelogger\[version]\Data\. 4. Select the .LEV file you want to open and click 'Open'.
This process allows you to view and analyze the water data stored in the .LEV file using Levelogger Software. Even though newer versions of the software use a different file format, they still support opening and working with older .LEV files.
