What is a .MMMS file?
A .MMMS file is a type of file used by the program Mindjet MindManager, which is a tool for creating visual diagrams to help organize ideas, plans, and projects. These diagrams are often called "Mind Maps." A Mind Map can include a main topic, various subtopics, and other elements like notes and images, all connected by lines to show relationships.
The .MMMS file specifically stores "Map Markers," which are small icons that you can place on different parts of a Mind Map. These icons serve as visual cues or tags and can represent different types of information such as the priority level of a task, the progress of a project, or just to highlight something important. These markers can be pre-designed icons included with the software or custom icons created by the user.
To open and work with .MMMS files, you need to use Corel MindManager. This program not only allows you to create and modify Mind Maps but also lets you manage these Map Markers. For example, in a project management map, you might use a progress clock icon to show how much work has been completed on a task, or a flag to indicate a milestone.
### How to Create a .MMMS File in MindManager: 1. Open MindManager and go to the Mind Map where you want to manage markers. 2. Look for the Markers Inspector, which is usually found in a side pane. 3. Inside the Markers Inspector, there is a gear icon. Click on this icon. 4. From the options that appear, select "Save Markers to File." This will allow you to save the set of markers you are currently using into an .MMMS file.
By saving these markers into an .MMMS file, you can reuse them in other Mind Maps or share them with other users who might find them helpful for their own projects. This feature is particularly useful for maintaining consistency in the use of visual cues across different maps and projects within the same team or organization.
