The .MXFR file extension stands for Mandelbrot Explorer Fractal Region File. This type of file is used by a program called Mandelbrot Explorer, which is designed for exploring and viewing complex mathematical images known as Mandelbrot and Julia fractals. The .MXFR file contains important information that defines a specific area of a fractal. This includes the minimum and maximum coordinates for both the X and Y axes, the resolution of the image, how much the image is magnified, and the specific type of fractal being viewed.
When you open a .MXFR file in Mandelbrot Explorer, the program uses the data in the file to generate a detailed fractal image based on the parameters specified. Users have the option to modify the appearance of these fractal images by applying different visual styles, such as monochrome, grayscale, or various color schemes. Additionally, both the fractal region settings and the chosen color schemes can be saved together in another file type used by the program, known as .MXAD files.
