What is a .NFV file?
An NFV file is a special type of video file used by the Netflix app, which you can get for both Android and iOS phones and tablets. This file holds a video, like a movie or TV show, that you've chosen to download from Netflix so you can watch it without needing an internet connection. Netflix introduced this handy feature in December 2016, making it easier for people to enjoy their favorite content on the go, even when they're not online.
To watch these downloaded videos, you don't need any special program other than the Netflix app itself on your iOS or Android device. When you download a video from Netflix, it's stored as an NFV file on your device, but it's encrypted, meaning it's locked in a way that only the Netflix app can unlock and play it. This is to protect the video from being copied or shared illegally.
Netflix is a popular service that lets you stream a wide range of movies and TV shows, including both old favorites and new, original content exclusive to Netflix. It started as a DVD rental service but has since shifted to focus on streaming directly over the internet. Most of the content on Netflix can be downloaded, but not everything. Remember, to download and watch NFV files from Netflix, you need to have the Netflix app installed on your device, and your device must be running at least Android 4.4.2 or iOS 8.0.
