What is a .P2I file?
The file extension .P2I is associated with a type of file known as a Power2Go Disc Image. This type of file is specifically created by a software program called Power2Go, which is used for burning CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs. The .P2I file contains an exact copy of all the data that is to be recorded on a disc, saved in a special format that only Power2Go can fully understand and use.
The main purpose of a .P2I file is to allow users to save a complete snapshot of what will be written to a disc. This is very useful because it lets you create multiple copies of the same disc without having to recreate the disc content from scratch each time. For example, if you are distributing a software application on DVDs to multiple recipients, you can create a .P2I file once and then use it to burn as many DVDs as needed.
Additionally, within the Power2Go software, you can view or "browse" the contents of a .P2I file just like you would look through files in a folder on your computer. This makes it easy to check what is inside the .P2I file without having to burn it to a disc first.
To open a .P2I file, you will need to use the CyberLink Power2Go 13 software. This is the program that created the file, and it has the necessary tools to open, edit, or burn the disc image stored within the .P2I file. Other programs might not be able to open this file type because it is in a proprietary format that is designed to work specifically with Power2Go software.
