What is a .PSKX file?
A .PSKX file is a type of file used in video game development, specifically with the Unreal Engine, which is a popular software for creating video games. The "PSKX" stands for "Unreal Engine Static Mesh," which is a 3D model made up of various flat shapes, or polygons, that are all connected to form the object. These static meshes are used to represent non-moving parts of the game world, like buildings or furniture.
Game developers and modders (people who modify games) often use a tool called UModel to extract these static meshes from games that are built with Unreal Engine. Once extracted, the meshes are saved as .PSKX files.
If you want to open a .PSKX file and perhaps modify the 3D model it contains, you can use a program called Blender. Blender is a free and open-source 3D modeling software. However, to open .PSKX files in Blender, you need to install an additional component called the PSK/PSKX import add-on. This add-on allows Blender to read and import the .PSKX file format so you can work with the static mesh in Blender.
