What is a .QMG file?
The .QMG file is a type of file used in Samsung mobile phones. It is part of what makes up the look or "theme" of the phone. Think of a theme like a decoration or outfit for your phone's screen, where everything matches or follows a certain style. The .QMG file contains pictures or graphics, like the image you see as your phone's background, the design of buttons, or other visual parts of your phone's theme. These graphics were originally in a common image format (.PNG), but then they get changed into a special format that only Samsung phones can understand, which is why they end in .QMG.
These .QMG files are put together with other files into a package that has a .SMT extension. This package is what gets applied to your phone to change its theme. There's also an XML file in the package, which is like a map telling the phone where each .QMG picture should go in the theme.
To create these themes, there was a program called Samsung Theme Designer. However, it's important to know that this program can't open or change .QMG files once they're made. It only creates them. As of now, Samsung Theme Designer is no longer available, which means you can't easily make or change these themes unless you have this specific program from when it was still around.
In simple terms, if you have a .QMG file, it's a special picture file for changing how a Samsung phone looks, but you can't do much with it without the specific Samsung program that's not available anymore.
