What is a .QRM file?
A .QRM file is a special kind of message file used by a platform called Qworum. Qworum is used for creating Web mashups, which means it helps different websites work together to offer interactive services. For example, one website might send a .QRM file to another to ask it to do something, like showing a map or sending information. These files are written in a code called XML, which is a way for computers to share information in a structured, readable format. Inside a .QRM file, there might be what's called RPC (remote procedure) calls, which are basically instructions for the receiving website on what service to perform.
To open a .QRM file, you need to have a web browser like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Microsoft Edge, but with a special addition called the Qworum plug-in. This plug-in allows the browser to understand and process the .QRM files correctly.
When a .QRM file is sent over the internet, it tells the browser it's a type of file called "application/xml". This used to be called "application/x-qworum+xml" but that's not used anymore. This label helps the browser know that it's dealing with a Qworum message file and how to handle it.
