What is a .RGD file?
An RGD file is a type of computer file used by a video game called Raft. Raft is an adventure game where you try to survive on a small raft in the middle of the ocean. You have to deal with challenges like not having enough water to drink, not enough food to eat, getting tired, and avoiding sharks. The game lets you collect things floating in the water to make tools and parts to make your raft bigger and better. You can build parts of the raft like the base, pillars, and stairs. You can also grow trees to get coconuts and wood, and you can make sea water safe to drink.
When you save your game in Raft, all the things you have done, like how much health, water, and food you have, and any changes you've made to your raft, are stored in a file with the extension .RGD. This means it's a Raft Saved Game File. You can open this file only with the Raft game. When you want to continue playing from where you left off, you can load this saved game from the game's main menu.
The game Raft is still being worked on, which means new versions are coming out that might add new features or fix problems. However, this also means that sometimes an RGD file saved in an older version of the game might not work with a newer version. For example, if you saved your game in a version before 1.04, that saved game might not open in version 1.04 or later.
Raft was created by three students from Uppsala University in Sweden. Their names are Semih Parlayan, who does the programming, and Ellen Mellåker and André Bengtsson, who are the artists. They are still updating the game, so it's a good idea to check for the latest version if you're playing Raft.
