What is a .SCHDOC file?
An .SCHDOC file is a special type of document used by people who design circuit boards, which are the brains inside many electronic devices like computers and phones. This file is made with a program called Altium Designer, which is a tool used for creating the design of these circuit boards. The .SCHDOC file contains what are called schematic sheets. These sheets are like blueprints that show how all the parts of a circuit board are supposed to be laid out and connected together.
When someone opens an .SCHDOC file in Altium Designer or a simpler, free program called Altium Designer Viewer, they can see all the different parts of the circuit board's design. Each part of the design is on its own tab, kind of like having different pages in a file, making it easy for the designer to look at each part separately.
If you don't have Altium Designer, you can still look at the design using the Altium Designer Viewer, which lets you see but not change the design. There's also a way to view these files online through something called Altium 365 Viewer, which means you can see the designs in your web browser without needing to install any special software on your computer. This is really handy for sharing designs with others or for taking a quick look at a design without needing the full Altium Designer program.
