.USA File Extension

A .USA file is a Unreal Saved Game File, created by Epic Games.

Open with Epic Games Unreal and Unreal II: The Awakening. Available for Windows and Mac.

What is a .USA file?

The .USA file extension is used for saved game files in the video games Unreal or Unreal 2. These are both first-person shooter games where you control a character from a first-person perspective, meaning you see the game world through the eyes of your character. When you save your game, it records your progress so you can continue playing from where you left off. This is very useful if you need to stop playing and want to come back later without starting over.

To open a .USA file, you need to have either Unreal or Unreal II: The Awakening installed on your computer. These games are made by a company called Epic Games. When you save your game, it creates a .USA file that can be opened by these games to load your saved progress.

In Unreal, you can have up to nine saved games at the same time. These saved games are named from "save0.usa" to "save8.usa" and are kept in a folder named "Unreal\Save\" on your computer. There's also a special save file named "save9.usa" used for quick saves, which is a faster way of saving your game without going through the usual save menu. All these saved games are referenced in a file called "User.ini" that's in the same directory, which helps the game keep track of them.
