What is a .UST file?
A .UST file is a type of file used by a program called UTAU, which is a software that creates singing by synthesizing human voices. It's similar to other programs like YAMAHA's VOCALOID, which is quite popular for making virtual singers or "vocaloids" sing. These vocaloids are like digital pop stars in Japan, often featured in music and dance video games.
The .UST file contains all the details needed to make a song using UTAU. This includes the musical notes, how loud or soft the notes should be (dynamics), any shaking in the voice (vibrato), the highness or lowness of the notes (pitch), and the words to the song (lyrics). People use these files to create music that's sung by the vocaloids, making it seem like you have a digital singer at your command.
To open a .UST file, you can use the UTAU program itself or Synthesizer V+, which is another software that can work with these files. Both of these programs let you play back the music in the .UST file, and they give you the tools to edit the song however you like.
If you want to use the music you've made in other ways, UTAU lets you change the .UST file into different types of music files. You can turn it into a MIDI (.MID) file, which is a common type of music file that can be played by many different programs.
