What is a .VIIVO file?

A .VIIVO file is a type of file that has been encrypted, or locked, so that only certain people can see what's inside. It is made by a program called Viivo. Viivo was designed to help people keep their files safe before they put them on the internet in places like Dropbox or Google Drive. When a file is encrypted by Viivo, it gets ".viivo" added to the end of its name. For example, if you have a Word document named "report.docx" and you encrypt it with Viivo, it will then be called "report.docx.viivo".

The way Viivo locks the file is by using a very strong lock called AES-256. To unlock the file, you need a special key. Viivo makes this key from your password, using a special recipe called PBKDF2 HMAC SHA256. This means that as long as you keep your password safe, your file should be safe too.

If you have a .VIIVO file, you can open it on an Android device using an app called PKWARE Viivo for Android. However, it's important to know that Viivo is no longer being updated or supported because the company that made it, PKWARE, has stopped working on it. This means that while you can still use Viivo to open and decrypt your old files, it might not be the best choice for encrypting new files since there won't be any new updates or help from the company.
