What is a .WC6 file?
A .WC6 file is a special type of digital card used in 6th generation Pokémon games on the Nintendo 3DS (N3DS). These games include Pokémon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, X, and Y. The .WC6 file holds information about a Pokémon or an item that you can get in the game. This information can be the name, ID, and a description of what the wondercard is for. Wondercards are usually given out during special Pokémon events in real life, but players can also share them online with each other.
To see these wondercards in the game, you go to the Mystery Gift section. This is where the game keeps track of all the special Pokémon or items you've gotten from events like movie premieres or gaming conventions. However, there's a limit; you can only have 24 wondercards saved at a time. So, if you want to add a new one, you'll need to delete an old one first. Depending on what the wondercard is for, it can give you details about a Pokémon, like what kind it is, its nature, abilities, and how strong it is. If it's for an item, it will tell you what the item does.
Even though .WC6 files are mostly used for getting special items or Pokémon in the game, you can also open and change these files on your computer using a program called WC6 Editor. This is handy for players who like to manage their wondercards more directly or want to share them with friends. But remember, these files are mainly meant to be used within the Pokémon games on the N3DS.
