What is a .WCM file?
A .WCM file is a special kind of computer file used by a program called Corel WordPerfect, which is a tool for writing and editing text documents on Windows computers. This file is not just any document, though. It's called a Microsoft Works Communications Script, but what it really does is store a list of instructions, or a "macro," that Corel WordPerfect can follow. Imagine you have a series of steps you do often in Corel WordPerfect, like formatting text a certain way or inserting specific information into many documents. Instead of doing these steps manually every time, you can create a .WCM file that tells Corel WordPerfect to do those steps for you automatically. It's like teaching the program a shortcut to do a bunch of tasks with just one command.
To use a .WCM file, you need to have Corel WordPerfect installed on your computer. As of my last update, Corel WordPerfect 2021 is a version of the program that can open and use these .WCM files. So, if you have a .WCM file and you want to see what tasks it automates or if you want to use the macro yourself, you would open it with Corel WordPerfect 2021.
