What is a .WLT file?
A .WLT file is a type of file that helps set up how the Unity program, which is used for making 3D video games, looks on your computer screen. Unity lets game developers move around parts of the program, like tabs, to make it easier for them to work. They can place these tabs wherever they want, add new ones, or get rid of ones they don't need. Once they have everything set up just right, they can save these settings. This saved setup is what's stored in a .WLT file. It's written in a simple code language called YAML, which Unity understands and uses to remember how to arrange everything next time the developer opens the program.
To save this setup, developers go to a menu in Unity called Layout, and then they choose "Save Layout...". This action creates a .WLT file. Unity also has some ready-made layouts, like "Tall" and "Wide", that are saved as .WLT files and can be chosen from the same menu.
If you need to open a .WLT file, you'll have to use the Unity program by Unity Technologies. Unity is quite popular for making games that can run on different devices like computers, phones, and game consoles. It's designed to be flexible, allowing game creators to shape their development space in a way that's most comfortable and efficient for them.
