What is a .XESC file?
A .XESC file is a type of video file that is made using a program called Expression Encoder Screen Capture. This program was part of Microsoft Expression Studio, which was a set of tools for people who make software and websites on Windows computers. The Expression Encoder Screen Capture program was used to record what is happening on the computer screen. For example, if someone wanted to show how a piece of software works, they could record all their actions on the screen and save it as a .XESC file. This file could also include sound from the microphone, like the person talking while they show something on their computer.
However, Microsoft stopped making and supporting Microsoft Expression Studio in 2012. This means you can't get new versions of the program anymore, but if you already have it or find it somewhere, you can still use it to open .XESC files.
