What is a .DRP file?

A .DRP file is a type of project file specifically used by a program called Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve. This program is popular for editing videos and correcting colors in them. When you create or save a project in DaVinci Resolve, it is stored as a .DRP file.

The .DRP file itself doesn't hold actual video or audio clips. Instead, it saves information about the project, like settings and edits you've made, and it keeps track of where the video and audio files are located on your computer or network. This means that the .DRP file organizes and references these media files but doesn't contain them directly.

To open a .DRP file, you need to use the DaVinci Resolve software by Blackmagic Design. This is the only program designed to read and manage these files properly. When you open a .DRP file in DaVinci Resolve, it loads up the entire video editing project as you last saved it, allowing you to continue working from where you left off.
