What is a .AMGP file?
An .AMGP file is a special kind of computer file used by programs called AntiMicro and AntiMicroX. These programs help people use a game controller (like the ones for Xbox or PlayStation) to play computer games that normally require a keyboard and mouse. The .AMGP file keeps all the instructions that tell the game controller what to do when certain buttons are pressed. These files are written in a computer language called XML, which is a way to store information in a structured, readable format. Even though AntiMicro and AntiMicroX are the main programs used to make and change these files, you can also open and edit them with any simple text editing program, like Notepad on Windows or TextEdit on Mac. This is because the information inside the .AMGP file is just text that describes the button mappings.
For example, if you love playing a game like Doom 3 but find it hard to play with a keyboard and mouse, you can create an .AMGP file that lets you use a game controller instead.
