What is a .ART70 file?
An ART70 file is a type of embroidery design file specifically created by a program called BERNINA ARTlink, starting from its version 7. This file format is used to store detailed embroidery designs that include important information such as the placement of stitches, the colors of threads to be used, and other relevant details that are essential for embroidery machines.
**How to Open an ART70 File:** To view or modify an ART70 file, you can use BERNINA ARTlink, which is available for free. This program allows users to open and work with the embroidery design stored in the ART70 file format. BERNINA ARTlink 8 is the latest version that supports this file type, but any version from 7 onwards can handle ART70 files.
**Creating an ART70 File:** To create an ART70 file in BERNINA ARTlink, you simply start a new embroidery design or open an existing one, make any desired changes or additions, and then save the design. When saving, you should select ART70 from the "Save as type" dropdown menu in the save dialog box. This ensures your design is saved in the ART70 format.
**Converting an ART70 File:** If you need to use your embroidery design with different software or an embroidery machine that does not support the ART70 format, you can convert it to another format using BERNINA ARTlink. To do this, open your ART70 file in the program, then go to File → Export Machine File..., and select the format you need from the options available. Common formats for embroidery files include .EXP, .PES, and .JEF, among others.
**Transferring an Embroidery Design:** After converting your file, you can transfer it to an embroidery machine. First, connect a USB storage device to your computer and copy the converted file onto it. Then, safely eject the USB device from your computer and plug it into your embroidery machine. From there, you can load the design into the machine's memory and start embroidering your design onto fabric.
This process allows you to use BERNINA ARTlink to create, view, modify, and convert embroidery designs easily, making it a versatile tool for embroidery enthusiasts.
