What is a .BDM file?
A .BDM file is a type of file that helps organize video information. It is made when you record videos in high quality with certain video cameras. This file keeps track of what videos are in a folder, and you might see it named as index.bdm or movieobj.bdm. You can find .BDM files in a special folder named AVCHD/BDMV on things like hard drives or USB sticks where videos are stored.
To open a .BDM file, you can use programs like Roxio Creator NXT Pro 9, CyberLink PowerDVD 21, Nero Video, or Roxio Toast 20. These programs help you see or manage the videos linked with the .BDM file.
Even though there are files similar to .BDM called .BDMV that you usually find on DVDs or Blu-ray discs, .BDM files are more often found on storage devices that are not discs, like your computer's hard drive or a memory stick. The .BDM file format was created by two companies, Sony and Panasonic, in 2006 to help with high-quality video recording.
