What is a .FFT file?

An FFT file is a special kind of audio file that works with Adobe Audition, a program used for making high-quality audio projects like music, podcasts, and sound for videos. This file helps control which parts of sound are heard more or less by changing how certain frequencies (the high or low tones in sound) are handled. It does this using something called Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) information, which is a way to see what different tones are in a sound and how strong they are. This is really useful for people who work with sound, like music producers or podcast editors, because it lets them adjust the audio to sound just right.

To open an FFT file, you need Adobe Audition, which is a professional tool for editing and creating audio. Adobe Audition has a lot of features for working with sound, including improving the quality of audio by removing unwanted noise. For example, if there's background noise in a recording, you can use Adobe Audition to get rid of it. Here's how you might do that: 1. In Adobe Audition, find a part of your audio that has just the noise you want to remove (make sure it's at least half a second long). 2. Go to the Effects menu, then to Noise Reduction / Restoration, and select Capture Noise Print. This tells Audition what the noise sounds like. 3. Next, select the part of the audio you want to clean up. 4. Go back to the Effects menu, choose Noise Reduction / Restoration again, but this time select Noise Reduction (process). 5. In the window that opens, you can use the Capture Noise Print option to save a profile of the noise. This profile can be saved as an FFT file by clicking the save icon next to the Capture Noise Print option.

This FFT file can then be used to help remove similar noises from other parts of your audio, making your project sound cleaner and more professional.
